After reading the reviews of the Samsung Syncmaster 931C LCD monitor on Amazon. I'd say it looks like a pretty good choice.
Pretty nice price too.

personally i would stick with the brands you know. Samsung or Viewsonic even Dell. and unless you plan on geting dual screens i would get a 20" or 22" widescreen just spend the little extra now and not regret it later when it drops in price.
20" mid range Viewsonic 20" mid range Samsung 21.6" Samsung 22" mid range Viewsonic note that not many samsung LCD's are in the "cheap" range tho they are great in terms of reliability and quality. and i have never had any issues with the three different LCD's I've bought from Viewsonic |

FYI...one good forum for monitors is http://hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=78
Keep in mind that there are all sorts of technologies out there...TN, S-IPS, PVA etc. and come in 6-bit or 8-bit displays. All have their pros and cons. |
