meh..if you think source > old, i can't believe that you've ever played old dod competitively for any length of time. i'd assume you're a CS player who gets bored of CS sometimes, and plays other HL mods when there's absolutely nothing else to do..which is fine, that's why they made source the way they did, to attract CS players to DoD.

I used to be a big DoD nut... until DoD:S came out. I don't play DoD:S as much as I used to but when I did I couldn't stop playing it, it's sooo addicting !

there's good things about it, like the graphics are way better.

they gimped rifles, you don't get pistols with rifles so if you're a keen shot with the m1 or kar, or k43 which is pretty much what the kar is in source, aside from the huge bolt action times..you're reliant on your rifle only as you have no side-arm. and they have nade launchers instead of 2 primable nades. you can shoot the nade to the ground and chuck it but there's like a 3 second timer now instead of a 5 sec. timer...so it's pretty useless too...anyway, point is, doing the 1-2 boom around a corner isn't feasible for riflemen anymore. they didn't just make it more difficult, they've just made it completely impracticle. your best bet is to spawn as a mp40 or thompson get a nade, a smoke, a pistol, drop your sub and pick up a real gun.

also, getting hung up on disposable terrain like chairs and debris...just, i guess point here is the fluidity of DoD has completely changed, it's no longer the game it used to be. it's not a bad game, it just has no remnance of DoD what-so-ever and in my opinion should be called something else as it's got no feel for what DoD used to be aside from that it takes place in WWII...the game to me feels a lot more like CS in a WWII setting. like i said, not necessarily a horrible thing just so different that i can't understand how people associate it with pre source at all.
