The PlayerVox glossary is a part of the resource section. It is devoted to maintaining an accurate and up-to-date list of the terms and phrases used by players of multiplayer games, as well as the etymology and history of those terms.
You can view the glossary here: http://www.guildcafe.com/Vox/1-glossary.html If you have suggestions for additions, please post them here. In general, for an item to be considered for the glossary, it needs to meet the following conditions: 1. Widespread usage beyond one particular game. "Widespread usage" is a bit hard to pin down, but can be supported through things like a high number of google hits for a particular term. "Beyond one particular game" is important--we don't intend to be a glossary of every term that has ever been used in every multiplayer game; for a term to be included here, it needs to have burst out of its origins and made its way into the everyday speech of other games. 2. Good history and/or etymology of the term are very helpful in deciding whether something meets the criteria of #1, and also makes the glossary more interesting for people to read. 3. Please provide an example sentence.

Is this only going to be for serious phrases and terms or would additions like l0llerskates and roflecoptor be welcome? I'm sure the history of those terms would be quite interesting and most defenitley entertaining to read.

There's definitely room in the glossary for lollerskates and roflcopters (in fact, those are mentioned in some way in the first version).

Cool. I'd hope any term would make it into the glossary. I'm lucky enough to have friends that help me out with the terms.
Would the glossary be general gaming terms/conversation or will it have game specific things (abbreviations/terms for certain things within a game)? |

Abbreviations and terms for things within a game are definitely good to include, especially if they've achieved usage beyond one particular game. We'll want to avoid filling it up with a lot of abbreviations/acronyms thare are only of interest to one particular game though (i.e., this is an MMO glossary, not an SWG or WoW or EQ glossary.)

Wasn't "Auction House" used in many games before WoW, like in FFXI for example? |

Didn't you know everything in any MMO was stolen/copied from WoW, don't try to use your silly logic and timelines to refute that, you can't win.

Haha -- it's true. WoW gets more credit than it should sometimes. Crystalia: if you can show earlier usages, by all means, let's get them documented.

Would it be possible to get terms to link to other terms in the glossary?
or at least indicate which terms in a description can be found within the glossary. Experience Points/Exploit are mushed together. Same issue for Instance/Killer The sentence for guild isn't in italics. Kill on sight has a "site" typo. also KOS is mushed into it Path shouldn't be indented. TK/Toon are mushed. Train's sentence is not in italics. Should prolly make an entry for CC ("Creature Control" I believe?) /nitpick ![]() EDIT: Crowd Control. Duh. Not creature control.

Thanks! Nitpicks are welcome. We'll update it on the next pass. "CC" is also good addition.
