Is it possible to see the whole comment on a players page? I can't seem to find a way to do this. A lot of comments (Respects, Game History etc) are cut off.

We weren't planning to patch today, but a couple bug fixes demanded it--so some minor features slipped in as well:
- Fixed a bug where the theme colors appeared with the FantaSea theme's colors if you hadn't modified any of the colors with the advanced settings. (Everyone's themes should be where they left them--if not, let us know please). - Fixed a bug where guild/clan events could reset to a date in 1999 if you modified an entry without reselecting the date again. Added a few fonts to the guild/clan management system (in preparation for the coming theme expansion): - "Tolkien" is inspired by elven script. - "Folkard" is a calligraphy style similar to what World of Warcraft uses in its websites. - "Uncial" is similar to Celtic calligraphy. - "Military Stencil" looks like WW2 era box stenciling. - "Satisfaction" is an elegant cursive style (used in the PlayerVox logo). - Discharge looks a bit post-apocalyptic, reminiscent of peeling posters. - "Ritz" is an art-deco era typeface. |

FaceBook integration added. You can automatically import and synchronize your GuildCafe personal page (along with character profiles, game history, etc.) to your Facebook profile.
If you are a Facebook user, you can try it out here: http://www.guildcafe.com/fb/

Today's update was a fairly major one for those of you using our guild hosting services. We've implemented a new theme system which allows far more flexible layouts for your guild pages. Soon, we'll open up the system a little more to let you edit and share the theme files--first we want to be sure the themes we've provided are bulletproof.
Features added today: - New theme system. When creating a new guild, or if you click on the "Themes" tab on your guild, you'll see a list of the available themes. Each theme usually has a few parameters you can change, beyond what it does "out of the box." We've included all the old themes, plus some new ones that are designed to match the look-and-feel of certain games (Age of Conan, World of Warcraft). We'll be providing more built-in themes in the coming weeks. - If you are not sure you want to use a particular theme, you can view your site in a "preview mode" in which another theme is activated temporarily. While you're viewing it in preview mode, everyone else still sees the old version of your site. - There are more components (or gadgets, or widgets, whatever term you prefer) available to add to your guild pages. You can include the "Friend Activity" information that's shown on Favorites and the What's New page; and also a summary of recent posts. You can activate each component individually by accessing the "Page" tab from your guild's management pages. - The announcement system for guilds/clans has been simplified to be easier and more blog-like. Announcements are interconnected based on date, and you can post or edit announcements without leaving your top page. - The groups you are a member of are now shown on the GuildCafe quicklinks (the links underneat the logo in the upper left). This will give you quick access to any guild or clan you've created or joined. - Guild/Clan announcements now support RSS syndication.

The questionnaire system is now able to show you some interesting facts and connections to other areas of GuildCafe. For each Bartle type, the page at http://www.guildcafe.com/zQuest.php will now show you:
- The most recent users who have scored the same as you - The top-ten games that are played by people with the same score as you - The top-ten guilds that are populated by people with the same score as you |

I would recommend a set of scaled fame rewards for news submissions that get 15, 20, 25, and 30+ positive votes. It would continue to encourage quality submissions, while rewarding the best ones.

Tarinth, I love the newest update. This will be a great tool to helping players select new games that should appeal most to their style of play, and help find guilds where they will find similar players. A brilliant idea!
Hades, I think this sounds like a good idea, being that I already thought people got fame based on their news submissions! Shows what I know, huh?

August 03, 2007: Upgraded the fame & activity tracking system
When you perform various actions, they'll be recorded in your history (which can be seen by you at http://www.guildcafe.com/zFame.php ) or by your friends. We've also implemented some new fame rewards. One significant change is that from now on, when someone signs up that is considered a "referral," that person's member name will be included in your history, so you'll get to see who exactly you got to sign up. This include all methods: guild signups, if they enter your name manually while signing up, through an e-mail invite, or if they view your profile page first and then sign up. Here are the new items that give some fame: - When you submit a Favorite and it goes "hot" you'll get a record of this event in your history, and also +150 fame. - When a user signs up and enters your name manually in the "referrer" field. (Previously this information was recorded but didn't result in a reward). You'll get +200 fame, just like when you invite a user via email or if they visit your profile page first. - When a user views a guild page and then signs up, the owner of the guild will be given +200 fame. Here are the new non-fame items we now record in your history: - Forum posts - Blog entries - Forum replies - Image uploads - Commenting on a favorite - Adding a character profile |
