QFT!

I have yet to see any game more perfect in execution. I still play starcraft to this day over LAN with my college buddies. Starcraft 2 has a LOT to live up to...if it ever ceases to be vaporware.

Stracraft was nothing but a unit pit....thats all. Speed and reaction time were huge in that game, Ill give it that, But when 4 dragoons can take out a command center in 30 seconds the game is UNBALANCED. You should not be able to walk into someones town and destroy half of it in 3 minutes or less.

Age of Empires had a balance and strategy that SC could'nt even hope to compete with.

Psh, Goons weren't that quick. The game was extremely balanced IMO. I personally love goons, but fully upgraded they do 26 damage and attack once a second, where Hydras take less food, and do roughly the same amount of damage because they attack about twice a second. To me Terran were probably the hardest to play right, but if done well(aka not bunkering up and going noob BC's) were extremely tough to take out because tanks were probably the most devastating unit in the game.

Meh,
I'd take Rise of Nations over either of those two anyday. I loved SC and broodwar in its heyday, but RoN blew me away.

RoN was a sweet game, and it may have been better than SC, but SC was so far ahead of it's time that I can't help but hold it on a pedestal above everything else.
