To buy or not to buy? any deals?
So with the release of Battlefield 3 I have really been contemplating getting a PS3. I usually game on friends consoles as the only console I personally own is a Neo Geo MVS (sadly they don't make Battlefield for this..). Most of my friends that are more than casual gamers have PS3s which is why I'm leaning on going this route... along with the fact that it's free, it's a BluRay device, etc..

Cheapest I've been able to find for a combo/bundle deal is $310 roughly at Best Buy (game, console, PSN Plus, headset):

Anyone know of any cheaper comparable deals or know of a coupon code that can knock that down any more?

Thoughts against PS3?
Should I hold out and get MW3 instead?
Should I just do it as I'm wasting too much time not gaming?

You know my thoughts on this already but since you posted I'll throw this out anyways. As far as the consoles go, I prefer my ps3 to my 360 any day. Also as we've said before...play with your friends wherever they are, right? I've not played in quite some time on psn's network so I cannot vouch for online gaming, but I do like gaming on micro$'s online system. Bluray = awesome and as you know I <3 BF3. Unfortunately that looks like the best console deal I can find as well.

You should probably get BF3 for your PS3 kaubs..

Yep, play where your friends are. If that's PS3 and you want a BD player too, go for it.

FWIW though, the 360's LIVE online/friends experience runs circles around PSN in terms of matchmaking, better & easier voice chat, party chat support, and the whole party system in fact. But all of that is worthless if your friends are elsewhere

Agree that I like the chat on Xbox much better. Haven't had an issue with matchmaking on PSN or noticed much of a difference.

I ended up getting a 320GB PS3, Two Controllers, Battlefield Limited Edition, Little Big Planet 2, and 3 Months Playstation Plus today for $350..

However they don't ship to the the United States so I called best Buy and they said they would price match. Then they realized they didn't have the same bundle and no Infamous 2 so they gave me individually packaged items and let me to an extra controller in lieu of Infamous 2. I then added LBP2 on so my girlfriend would have something to play. They price matched that for $33 at Wal-Mart. In total I saved over $170 and got a 320GB console for the price of the 120GB version along with the Limited Edition version of Battlefield.

Feeling pretty good about it.

Crazy thing.. I opened up the box and there was also a Playstation Move in the box.. things just got even better.
