Todays News: LulzSec's 50 day hacking spree ended
Lulzsec has made a name for themselves in hacking numerous game sites and exposing corporate and personal information at their will. Now at the end of their 50 day rampage, the organization claims to have disbanded.
In this statement on Pastebin.com, Lulzsec sails off with a parting message-
"For the past 50 days we've been disrupting and exposing corporations, governments, often the general population itself, and quite possibly everything in between, just because we could. All to selflessly entertain others - vanity, fame, recognition, all of these things are shadowed by our desire for that which we all love..."
As a final push in their conquest Lulzsec released approximately 500,000 accounts with their usernames and passwords and crashed the the site of Battlefield Heroes, developed by DICE. In this statement by DICE, the attack is confirmed.
"Service has been restored on Battlefield Heroes... Our investigation is ongoing, however it appears screen names and encrypted passwords associated with an early beta version of Heroes have been compromised. To the best of our knowledge, it appears that no personal data was compromised – no emails, account history, credit card numbers or payment methods."
Lulzsec concludes their message with-
"it's time to say bon voyage. Our planned 50 day cruise has expired, and we must now sail into the distance, leaving behind - we hope - inspiration, fear, denial, happiness, approval, disapproval, mockery, embarrassment, thoughtfulness, jealousy, hate, even love."
