Just wanted to share this as I haven't seen on it on this site. Quake Live is a free multiplayer FPS that is fully eqipped with rankings, stats, friends, browsers, skill sets, characters, customized profiles, etc.

It's all loaded from the web, and runs very nice and smooth. Check it out!

This service is awesome. A lot of peeps in my Guild Wars alliance picked up and we've been having (literally) a blast. If you played Quake 3: Arena you know what the game is already; but the browser-based matchmaking and stats keeping is what really makes it worth looking into. Log in, see where your friends are and click the little quake emblem next to their name and get to fragging.

I mean, shit, it's free....and it runs really well.

It's not bad, I tried it quite a while ago, actually. It's just too difficult for me personally. I prefer the original Quake 3 Arena over it myself.

Maybe it over estimated your skills? try a match that says is below your level.

Its a fun game but I have enough other FPS games to keep me busy

quakelive is awesome, my only problem is that quake is by far the most hardcore fps you will ever play... and playing quakelive just shows me that its very possible for me to suck at an fps
