You see I only started collecting end of last year and am to lazy to read up on all the old names. I did see some old Eldar rules though.

Man they had it tough

Reaper011 has much to be proud of
It has to be space marines, they look great and have the fire power to dominate the battlefied. Land Raider with terminators inside all the way.

That's kind of funny. I spent about the first 5 years of playing 40k listening to how Gav Thorpe was such a cheesy git because of how over powered the Eldar were.

I have to say now, the new Imperial Guard codex has now hit the shelves and I am now more in the Eldar camp than the Imperial Guard, The new guard codex is basically Codex: Cadia. Anything outside of something you could typically see fielded by cadia is gone on the army wide scale, and is generally an elite part of your force, if it's still there at all.

Heh maybe I can finally murder those damn imperials who always seem to use other stuff then Cadians (for some odd reason I own Cadians with my army list)

In one of the older rules most of the Eldar veheciles weren't worth anything really they got torn apart by a damn Grot >_>

No, unfortunately there is no space rats. GW tries to keep the 2 games seperate. Orks, Eldar and the Chaos Gods aren't going anywhere, but I wouldn't expect any other races from fantasy to show up in 40k as GW generally tries to keep the 2 games seperate.

I believe that's one of the main reasons they got rid of Squats (Space Dwarves) many years ago. The didn't feel the Squats were adding a whole lot to the game and want there to be a clear distinction between the 2.

But don't most of the 40k armies have an equivalent in fantasy?

The closet you can get to the Skaven are the Tyrinids off the top of my head: They are both swarm armies that rely on a lot of man....er bug/ratpower to swamp the opposition. Nids don't have a giant bell of doom, though.

@OP: I choose Necrons. Walking robotic skeletons that are pretty much the antithesis of Chaos? Yes....
