final fantasy II is my favorite for the character and the music. FFXII was cool for the combat system. FFVII was cool for the death of aerith which is still the best death scene.

Wow, tough question.
I like FF7 for its story
FF8 had me interested for a long while
FF10 & 10 2 for the story again.

I have tried the other earlier ones, but I don't know them well enough, however I used to watch my Brother play them and they were VERY detailed in plot line.

I loved FF6 (3 on the SNES) it was the first one I played and what made me fall in love with Squaresoft. I've pretty much enjoyed them all except 9 and 12.

Well Final Fantasy VII was the best to start, I loved the Story line, despite the graphics and non audio voice....it was still awesome, and then to recently come out with Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core even better! That game filled in the holes and added some awesome characters.

I never really got into Final Fantasy 1-6 so not much to tell on those.

Final Fantasy VIII was really good I liked the story line even though it was rushed and eerie...It was still good

Final Fantasy IX, I never finished story line was crap and characters were even worse..never really got into that one.

Final Fantasy X and X-2 well X was awesome, great comeback from IX and great graphic update, story line was great. X-2 I could have done without...feel they should have devoted more time to something different. Great let down there..

Final Fantasy XI well I wouldn't know much I didn't play much of it....15$ a month PER CHARACTER...!!! no thank you..

Final Fantasy XII was sweet just another great story line from SquareSoft, really loved the new combat system in it!

To summarize in order from Favorite to least...
1. Final Fantasy VII
2. Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core
3. Final Fantasy VIII
4. Final Fantasy X
5. Final Fantasy XII
6. Final Fantasy XI-for what I did play of it.
7. Final Fantasy X-2
8. Final Fantasy IX
9. Final Fantasy 1-6

Final Fantasy Tactics A2-I loved the story and the main characters left a good impression on me. The amount of jobs made the game less repetitive. I hope they make an A3.

Hard to decide which is my favorite
To be honest, Final Fantasy VII was my favorite FF game because of the great storyline and unique characters (all characters in the FF series are unique I guess )

Really? Tell me which FF character am I describing:

Loner, moody, mysterious past, unexpected power, gravity defying hair, unique weapon.

I just described 90% of the characters in just about every single FF ever made.

I still love the series, though.
