There was a piece on NPR the other day about a classroom project on infectious diseases and the students created something like this. I only caught a few minutes of it - so i can't give more details.

It did make me remember this thread. I come here today, and lo-and-behold thsi thread has been resurrected. I thought for sure it must have been the same project - but it's not!

Didn't something fairly similar to this happen in World of Warcraft with a Red Plague outbreak a few years back? Had experts in the CDC commenting on the way people would react in the event that an epidemic happened in the real world.

In wow they had an zombie-plague-outbreak last year. Most people hated it, because over time you became a zombie faster and there were less people to cure you. I had fun

In the beginning, Crates appeared in major cities witch were plagued, if you clicked them you got a debuff for 2 min. when he ran out -> zombie. If you got killed by a zombie -> zombie. if you walked into a zombies gascloud -> zombie. Zombies lost Health over time, but if they attacked someone they also gained health.

I enjoyed it :P
