Perfect Dark on the N64. It was the spiritual sequel to Goldeneye. This game should be on the XBLA.

The best FPS is the Crysis Series in my opinion!
Crysis was WAY ahead of its time for PC games and Graphics when it came out, And could still challenge the new games coming out Now even though its about 1 & a half years old. Great storyline and Amazing potential for modding and ive seen some totally awesome Multiplayer maps created by the community using the editor.
Other great FPS games include:
CoD series
Far Cry 1 & 2
half life...

Def has to be Half life Death Match. The amount of skill involved sets it apart from all the others. I don't know which i love more my Zero point gravity manipulator or my .357 magnum.

Let's see...

Metroid Prime (THAT is how to bring a 2D game into 3D)
Duke Nukem 3D
CoD4 (played the multiplayer to death. Need to get another copy.)
Oblivion (not really a shooter per se, but it is first person so that counts)
Mirror's Edge (not much with the shooting, but I love to see devs taking chances)
Gears of War (series)
DOOM (The Father of the FPS, Wolfenstein being the Grandfather)
That's all I can think of for now, but it's late and I'm sick. If I think of some more I'll be back.

Are you for real? Someone else who thinks Goldeneye is awesome and i'd fully agree with you if you replace Call of Duty 4 with Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

I would kind of agree with you, if it wasn't for the fact that to run Crysis perfectly with full graphics content applied you have to have a high end computer, unlike console games where it's the same quality, just not as expensive. More people buy Crysis just to test their graphics than to actually play the game.

Though I did quite enjoy the game.

I loved Goldeneye (and to slightly lesser degree, Perfect Dark) back in the day. Never got into the Rainbow Six Vegas games, though. Tried the demo for the first one and it didn't quite stick with me for some reason. Played Modern Warfare to death, though. Going back to the game shop soon to get me another used copy and try (yet again) to get the Mile High Club Achievement. And get to 55 in multiplayer.

I used to play Vegas 2 a lot, especially competitively (Gamebattles) but after realising all "Pro" players used one gun excessively I felt that it was just pointless, so i'm looking for a game to focus on, Halo 3 will amuse me in the meantime.
