Well, you said you were excited about DNF back in 1996.
Now in 2008 you say you could care less, so apparently you don't, so there is at least some caring still being done.
You probably meant to say you could not care less instead.

I still care myself, maybe even more-so than I did back then.
After all if it were to be released now/soon, it would be a current gen game.
If it was released then, by now I probably would've stopped playing.
Of course this reasoning only works from in hindsight; I would've loved to play DNF back then.

I'm not assuming I'll love this game like I did DN3D, just as I'm not assuming this will turn out like Daikatana (which I personally didn't play).
The fact that releasing it takes so long doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the game's quality.
