Rock Band
I play RB1 and 2 all the time, and love them both. I suck at guitar but still try it out occassionally. I mostly play drums and sing. I am drumming on medium and can 5 star most songs so I am dreading it but I will be moving up to hard soon LOL. I like guitar hero too though, and admit it was what got us started on the whole music genre of games.

Other. (In this case, Other = actual band.)

Oblivion: Elder Scrolls IV
You would probably say it isn't a musical game, but you can make music by hitting different stuff with different weapons and spells. You can also drop armor and kick them around for more sound. Or the sound of hitting different kinds of guys (I can conjure them and they are friendly) with different weapons and spells.

I guess I mostly play Audiosurf since it's something I can easily play for a minute or two and I love the fact that I can use my own music library. I usually only play Rock Band/Guitar Hero when I'm hanging out with friends and I use to play Dance Dance Revolution back before/when it was popular. Kept me in shape.

Rock Band. Because it's plain better than Guitar Hero.
And the multiplayer aspect is hilarious when three people playing are all great on their instruments and you have the one idiot who can't figure out that being a drummer means you have to hit things. xO

Love me some Rock Band, though GH is pretty sweet as well.

For me, it's Elite Beat Agents, and a PC-based EBA/Ouendan clone called osu!

Rock Band, definitely. The best part is that the kids and I can enjoy it together.

Mostly RB, GH3 pushed me away from the GH franchise though GH:WT almost succeeded in bringing me back in... then I remembered I have like 200 songs that work on RB1 and 2 =P
