The first sports game I ever played was R.B.I. Baseball for the NES. Following the same pattern of discounting pong in this.

Intellivision Lives!
I can't count Pong (but oh what a Christmas it was).
I'm also old - Intellivision Baseball and (to a lesser extent) Intellivision Football. I think it was play "9928" that dominated? Tecmo Bowl was also fantastic - we practically got into fistfights over that game. |

Im with the guy up above. Intellivision Baseball and Football had to be the first. I also played as a kid, those Mattel Digital handheld sports games. You might remember them as the games with little light blips that made noises that must have drove our parents nuts. I think I wore out about 2-3 of the football hand held games. The buttons just quit working after a while. Man games have come a long ways, eh?

FIFA '94 on the Mega Drive. It was a great way to spend time with friends when the weather outside was bad. One of the first multiplayer sports games, a ritual I still enjoy with friends and beer.
