I don't know if you could consider it a true fighting game, but I loved playing Combat on the Atari 2600. As far as versus fighting games, probably SFII in the arcade. I'm more of a single-player kind of guy.

First fighting game was SFII. I sucked, but that's the one I played.

Street Fighter 2 on a friend's SNES. I loved this game sooo much, I learned all and every special move of every character. Still lost a lot of games though ^^

Tekken 3 on Psx. I had alot of fun because of that game,and its still awesome even now!
