Its between 2 and 3 for me. I think 3 was when Tekken really got big and started grabbing people, but 2 had the vast amount of unique characters you could play. I know 3 got me into it and I played the demo for hours until the game actually came out. I haven't played the last 2 Tekkens that came out though.

2 was what got me into buying a Playstation so in return I will always consider it best, I have to keep to my nostalgia. But 3 made playing Lei more entertaining with all those stances. <3

The series peaked with Tekken 3 and Tag Tournament. After that, it's all been downhill from there.

I haven't played Tekken 6 yet. But from the Tekken 1-5 I'd say 5 is the best. More characters, fighting styles got updated with new techniques and moves, the OST was pretty good too. Yeah Tekken 5 is the best for me.

Tekken 3 was the series' height both in career and in advancement. I chucked so many quarters into the machine back when I was in college that I nearly failed a few courses because of it.

I also built some solid friendships, won some tournaments, and played some great games.

As it stands, Tekken 6 feels very close to Tekken 3. All my old juggles and combos are ported from Tekken 3 so I'm not very good at it yet

Tekken Tag, by far the best tekken game. Requires the highest level of execution, tons of viable characters and teams, and a great usage of the tag mechanic. This was Tekken in it's prime before 4 came along and killed the community.

Tekken 5 was the most balanced, both in terms of characters and skills required. T6 is less exciting, same strategies, same combos, same mindgames
