Hardcore vs. Casual

To tell you the truth I really can't stand this whole Hardcore vs casual. A gamer is a gamer... But for this thread's sake... more hardcore less casual. My psp has a lot of games that are just there to kill time (like lumnies.)

I'm more casual during the week only play 1 or 2 hours a day rest of my week days are spent working and sleeping for the most part.
Then there's weekends, where I'm playing for about 10-15 hours.
So about 20-25 hrs a week, I guess thats' still considered casual.

I'm the very definition of a casual player, I think. I rarely understand the complexities of stat systems, I don't try to memorize all the game mechanics inside-out, I just do my own thing, hang out with friends, and enjoy the game.

I'm more hardcore than casual I think. I play alot, and I do try to get the most out of a game. I've always been like that, even before 360 brought achievements. I've alwasy tried to get all unlockables, do all sidequest, get to the highest experience level and so on...
but then again, I don't always play to win when playing multiplayer, that's more for socializing to me

Casual. I play WoW, but maybe 3 hours a week? I have no times to play much more. My copy of Warhammer has been collecting dust, along with Dungeon Runners, Second Life and Eve.

When I get done making my pill that gives me 48 hours a day, then I'll go hardcore

Im not sure this is the right choice to describe me correctly, but it comes pretty close.

I tend to play many hours every day, so in that regards, i guess i am hardcore.

Im mostly playing MMORPG's these days, but i also play other games.

When i play, i try to learn as much as possible about the game, but the main motivator for me to play is the socializing part.

So, i would summarize it like this:

I play for hours every day: Hardcore
When ingame, i aim to have a good time and likes to socialize and learn about the particular game im playing: Casual

I would consider myself hardcore for sure. I spend way to many hours playing games each day, and play a very wide variety of games. I live for the multiplayer aspect of games, and can get very competitive when playing against other people.

When you're still in school and have a job, friends, girlfriend/boyfriend you have to manage your time wisely.

Hardcore = awake for 48 hours after waiting in line to buy the game on release and then being the first to make a quick review on your fav game forum or not seeing the light of day as you either kill 10000 in PvP or emerge yourself in a fantasy mmo

Casual = stumbles upon a game by mere coincidence or a quick recollection of a friend's comment of the game and playing the game once or twice a week with not a care in the world other than there's always another game around the corner
