Anybody using Chrome?
So today Google took one more step towards Global domination by releasing their very own web browser.
This very informative cartoon tells us why Google Chrome is so much better than IE, Firefox, Safari, etc etc... Well it doesnt use those names, but they're the competition. I just downloaded the app from http://www.google.com/chrome and have been trying it out... Yes, it appears to be faster than firefox. But when I tried loading GDNA, it actually took quite some time... There's quite some little stuff that annoys me or I got used to with FF, so unless I can find a way to turn those things back on (such as RSS feeds on top of my browser) I'm not too interested. It looks slick tho, and it has a porn button. Doesnt save cookies / webbrowser info in porn mode. That's a plus for me tbh. |

Yes, I am using it. So far I am really loving it. FireFox 3 was a huge disappointment for me. I was about to revert back to FireFox 2 when I heard about Chrome. So far, Chrome is nice. But I have only had it for a few minutes so I gotta give it some good testing. But I have loved Google apps in the past so I feel good about this.
As for RSS, I use FeedDemon. Also, GamerDNA is flying in this new browser. It was brutally slow in FireFox 3 and now its flying. WooHoo. |

GamerDNA has been slow for me but that was prior to downloading Chrome, and it's still running sluggish in Firefox 3 and IExplorer for me, so I don't think that's Chrome's doing.
For first day launch of a beta, I'm pretty impressed with this browser and have already moved most of the "entertainment" links out of Firefox into it. I'm keeping Firefox around though just because I'm pretty dependent of Firebug and some other web development plugins; but as soon as Chrome has similar plug-ins will I decide my winner. |

I've been using Opera. The "Most Visited" tab looks surprising similar to Opera's "Speed Dial".. Will give it a go.

Hmm, the more I read about Chrome, the less I care about being lied to. BSD license? Stable webapp platform? I'm in. Ready for that Linux port any day now. Yup. Any day.

![]() My problem is plugins... I am a Firefox plugin machine... Chrome needs to support firefox plugins and I would be THERE. But right now it doesn't... so I am hanging FF3. |

However, I would like to question Wingman709's comment about reverting back to FF2 - what exactly made you go back sir? |

1) Crashing 2) VERY SLOW 3) Right clicking to open in new tab would not work first time as that option was grayed out. Always had to do it twice So my experience was not a good one. It killed me how they claimed FF3 was so much faster and it was a snail compared to FF2. Now, I know what you are gonna say...its your PC because it works perfect on my PC. Well, you would be wrong on one point and that is that it is NOT my PC. I installed the new browser (before knowing is sucked) on two PC's at home, and three of my four PC's at the office including my laptop. ALL of them had the exact same problems. So when I tried out Chrome today, I was SHOCKED by the speed of pages coming up. So far I have been using it all day with out any issues. I can't say the same for the final release of FF3. Pretty sad when Google's "beta" software is better than other companies final release software. And for the record, I am not bashing or hating on FF. I have been using it now ever since the nightmare that is IE7 came along. I was a longtime IE fan until version 7. That pile of waste made me move on to FF and I liked FF until version 3. I just want a browser that is safe, fast, and does what I need it to without any bloat. And today I may have found that in Chrome. But I won't know until I see it work like this for at least a week. |
