JRPG Discussion
hey everyone. i've started this thread cos i'd like some suggestions for an RPG to play next (currently playing dragon quest 8) and also to have a general discussion about why people are fans of certain titles.
my housemate has suggested i play lost oddessy after i've finished DQ8, any thoughts on that?

Any Final Fantasy game? Including Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger. Those are pretty much the only JRPGs I really liked, although there have been a few that I enjoyed but I can't seem to remember them. Well, other than Grandia and Grandia 2.

yea i've played all of the final fantasy and love them (apart from 12, that one was just boring). ive played chrono cross which was good, but never chrono trigger so i suppose that's something to consider. what did you think of FF12?

Try any Gothic game, you may like it (now that all 3 come in one big pack)

Gothic is a somewhat open game, but it's not a JRPG. You might aswell check out a gamespot.com review, those can probably give you a better view of the game than I can with text.

Meh, I use them to get a general overview of the content. They're no good for quality ratings but atleast you can figure out what the game is all about.

It's an old one, but "Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire" by Sierra was a superb game, try it.
