Emulators
I thought I would post some links for those of you looking to getting into the emulator scene.
Emulators: Nes: There is a great firefox plugin called FireNes that lets you play hundreds of nes games in your browser http://firenes.en.softonic.com/ Snes: in my experience there is only snes emulator worth using and that is the zsnes. http://www.zsnes.com/ Gameboy: I would suggest the visualboy advance http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php...oyadvance.html Arcade: The only arcade emulator I have ever bothered to use is mame (Note:Sadly it only emulates a cabinet and not an actual arcade) http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/arcade/mame.html Rom sites: http://www.romnation.net/ a great site for rom resources. (I used to have more sites but they are either gone or nsfw now) Games: Once you guys download a snes emulator then their are certain games you have to complete before you can call yourselves gamers again. Chrono Trigger Battle Toads Breath of Fire Tales of Phantasia Final Fantasy 1-6 Dragon Quest ------------------- Fun games to play: Uncharted Waters II (snes) Zone of the enders:fist of mars (gba) |

Nintendo has a history of paranoia, like when they tried to bring down the hammer upon suicide girls for references to metroid and zelda.

However, I must confess, my only method of passing the bike level was hitting the warp, so I believe there's a chunk of the game I've never seen. Breath of Fire and Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior also good picks, and Chrono never fails. |

, but they have a point in not wanting people to freely download their old games. If the games are abandonded I'm all for letting people remember, and actually play those old classics. It's not like they're losing any money on it, not like they're still selling those games. However Nintendo has their Virtual Console on the Wii, so the games are actively being kept alive by the original owner. The games do still bring in some money for the owner, so I fully agree with them if they want to protect their property. This goes for XBLA as well, and of course consoles that can play older media. I'm not saying it's ideal; free games obviously have something over games that cost something, even if they're dirt cheap, but I fully understand their position. |

I completely understand their position and they have every right to crack down on those stealing their merchandise. I believe it is a little late now though for them to take out roms. Emulators were going around years before Nintendo decided to rerelease their games to the masses. It is sort of like trying to stop a downhill train that left station hours ago.
