Love this game. The dual-screen thing isn't too bad once you get used to it.
Starting out, the AI takes over after a certain time if you so desire for starting out.

Two screens... Sounds engaging. I couldn't watch anime at the same time I play it like with the Pokemon games, I suppose, but it looks worth trying.
As for the lead's whining, I could use a character to hate and/or yell at randomly in a public place. Me (playing DS): STFU AND DEAL WITH IT YOU MORON! NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK! Random guy next to me: ??? *confused* |

this game is so effing hard to play. haha. i really loved that it was set in an urban setting, tired of the typical anime fantasy stuff. voice acting was good. give it 2 thumbs up. though it took me around a week to finish it. (changing calendar dates ftw!)

I've been playing this one for a couple weeks now (working on getting all the secret reports) and I have to say bravo to Squenix for trying something new and different. I have yet to get the hang of controlling both screens at once, and honestly, I don't see the need.
And yes, Neku starts out as a whiny, self-involved prick, but he really does grow throughout the course of the Reaper's Game. He becomes, in my mind, much more than your average cookie-cutter emo kid that seem to populate way to many RPGs these days. To sum up: Great game, new way to play, buy this so they'll take more chances. |

Started playing it again a few days ago. The game is simply awesome! Especially the soundtrack (the Deja Vu song, by Joanna Koike is set on repeat since friday lol) and the drawing style of the characters. The "You want me to clear this wall? Then... " thing gets a bit boring but you can overlook that.
Also, this game made me think about changing my own style. ![]() I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10. It is an original game but they didn't announce any sequel (if there will be any, i'd love it to feature a "Be the Reaper" mode so you could set games for players over WiFi (or in singleplayer as well?) ) |

I could not get in to this game. The battle system gave me a headache and the trendy/fashion animation style was a bit of a turn off for me, too similar to hip-hop culture. This game is not for everyone, but it is very unique. Too bad the DS does not have demos. Borrow it from a friend before purchasing is my recommendation.

The soundtrack to the game is great, but the battle system is hella easy once you get used to it. Especially when you're using Joshua for your partner; he pretty much breaks the game, he's so overpowered.
