I have been asking all my guilds officers to join up then ask all the guildies to join up over time, its working ok so far.

Ok. My guild is around 170 members now, I have 55 members on the guild cafe site, I have adapted my policy that I promote primarily on fridays, Except in the event of registering on the website. I have the bank setting so that recruits can see, but can not withdraw items, It seems to be working, Members find itens they would like and find the easiest way to get to it , is to register. Of course this is a work in progress. but i jump up 15ish member since starting that system.

well lets see
We just recruit people over the age of 17. thats what we do.
I tried the recuiting from 13 up. But they dont stay long.And we want
Players who will be friendly-respect everyone{not just members}
Play with good manners and fairness...
I have set up level of admin in our clan that gives everyone including non
members a high level of respect .As well as admin in our clan.
With this in mind. people will join your clan and stay.
Longest staying members in ElviBunnyFarm have been 4 years.
Its not a easy ride being a owner. But the people I have met though
The years has made it worth the effort.
Sure you will have clan hoppers, But thats part of it. make a set of rules.
Stick by them {yes even you have to follow them}
Give your members a role or job to do... the way to get members is by
Word of mouth. and a webpage for your forums. make allies in the games you play.
{we have over 139 allies}and 12 gaming Sponsors. If I was to
Wait for some website to give me members.... well it be a long wait.
{no offence} and one more thing... be picky who you let in. with that said
You want good members- with good manners.. they bring more people into
your clan than and skill level ever will...

Unhappy I have that problem too...
I am having the exact problem(+ being a girl guild leader, who inhereted the guild) My guildies never wanna do anything but use the money, gear, and help that I give. I just kill 'em with kindness , most ppl feel bad for taking and not giving after a while, and at least try to do what you say. AS for the ppl who said their guildies are not playing when you are ,If they do to you what one did to me today and that's logging off as soon as you come on and logging on and asking if u are still there..... BOOOOOOT 'EM!(or demote them) they are avoiding duty and you shouldn't put up with disrespect you are there to help and they should give you what is due!

At one time we have had over 4300 members... I found it hard to "Speak" to them all at anyone given time.. now we have about 3200...and 930 of them are away for the time being.{school-job} the rest are playing somewhere... the good thing about being relaxed clan is your atuned members do "tasks" within the clan.. the others play and hang around for the long run.. I have members who disapear for 3 months then return
Like they never left... others have lives and kids to deal with..
but if you treat them fairly and with respect. they will stay for the long run... And yeah" there more than enough around to play in scrims..

Unfortunately not too many signed up from just the guild announcement, because people are lazy or didn't notice it. I had to bug each of them individually about it. I tended to phrase it in a way like: Did you sign up yet or did you have trouble figuring out how to do it? Some felt bad and did it right away; others actually were confused and needed my guidance through the steps to get membership on the site!

I thought about threatening to boot from guild if they don't join I feel that at this point if they don't join, they don't plan to stay in guild. I have tryed just about everything, I thought scheduling would do it. Maybe I need to offer a reward for joining, shouldn't have to Take there bank privilages away??LOL

My shaiya guild did a thing called honorable mention where the guild leaders created a thread about everyone that joined and members could post about how they helped them in some way.

also some sort of donation list might help...u know, a list of the people that donated....and maybe what they donated.
