I'd have brought tranquillisers for them all, but as its the usual nerdy 'No open liquid containers within 20 feet of a miniature' it would have been hard to drug them all. And no, I couldn't have put it in the air-con either... seems they don't trust it (or anything to do with fresh air).

Pfft no open liquid containers within 20 feet?
These guys would hate some of the matches we've had into the late hours of the night....nothing says Miniature Warfare than scattered pizza boxes and opened 12 packs... |

Not only does it add substance, I like that it really cuts down on the amount of LoS/Range questions...not to mention the time loss in an RPG when 5 players get 5 different pictures of the layout from what the GM says. At our table, players loose the fig when they die to the GM, so that it can come back later as an NPC to haunt their memories...its funny when you use someones dead level 6 mage as a store-keeper...suddenly the players have a lot more respect for "Little Jimmy" at the General Store. *laughs*

As long as I dont have to paint them, mini's are cool. I disagree Orc and Goblin players tend to be the people who dont care if they win or loose as long as everyone is having fun,.

*laughs* very true when you play Green, ya better be prepared to have your entire army route on your first turn..."cuz da wind waz blowin'", but after decades its not really as much fun to play the elite Flavor(flav)'s of the Month anymore....after countless views of watching Eldar vs Eldar battles (yawn). Tell me Alsorind does this ring a bell:
I ..Um....FIRE...with my 20 dice I ...UM... only miss on a 1, and with my amulet of protection against rules, I get to reroll all miss's I Um break toughness with my handheld str 10 +5 laser blasters I need 2's or better you. um....save on a six...but wait....str 10 penalty makes no save for you It just makes it so much more fun to smile sweetly accross a table and unleash every unstable unit you can....doomdiving, whirling balls and chains...and kill half your army and thiers in one turn....get a couple really bad die rolls and end the battle. The Advantage for me when I play Green, is I always win 1. I win= I win 2. I draw= I live to fight another day= I win 3, I loose= and the great one-eye brings me back to fight another day= I win and when you win with an underdog the victory is soooo much sweeter then when you win in God Mode...that translates from RPG's, to tabletop, to even MMORE-PIGS (Gawd knows when you killed people in DAOC as an ALB or a HIB you felt like you were stabbing sleeping babies, but when you won as a middy...you really, REALLY, R.E.A,L,L,Y earned it) ....*passes the sharing ball off to the next person* |
