Pirates are smarter than Ninjas. Ninjas kill then still the money. Pirates...Aye! Pirates! Pillage, wait till they gain more money, Pillage again, and so on! We don't need to kill just keep getting rich and rich! Pillage and Pillage!

Oh look, it's very simple. Pirates get to chase wenches. Say it out loud: "Wenches". Ninjas may be quite popular with ladies of all types, but they don't get "wenches".

Now, granted, this is offset by long stretches at sea on a ship full of unwashed and desperate men, so I'm not sure whether the word "wenches" quite compensates.
