Thats quite a good article :-)
you got some good keypoints there, recruiting being one of them and officer and leadership qualities. I have had my guild for 2 years now, and we have had ups and downs, the worst time was when we got too many new members in short space of time, everyone wanted attention then and personality conflicts started. Luckily it all got sorted and i had to kick a few people to maintain order. We dont add so many people now, and we ask questions before we let anyone in to. Its always good to have a certain level of trust with your officers, A leader can not do everything and be around all the time, so officers should be selected with care and not stupid advertisements like "first 5 people wanting to join my guild get to be officer" thing. Ive seen this soo many times. Thanks for the read :-) |

I'm loving the case study quite well... I've followed most of them, and it works quite well (though I just read these just now), but the basic idea on how to run a guild/clan while preventing complacency and all has been a big priority for me. I'd followed and lead groups before so I know the level of difficulty. But I am still laughing about GM going ballistic.

Guild name isn't the most important thing, the best guild on my WoW server is named Not Steamboat.

Honestly, I do baised a lot of my asumptions on guild names. If the guild has a generic name then I usually avoid it (Basically anything with words like Lords, dark, evil, slayer, mega, ultimate, holy, death, ect. I think you get the picture).

I feel kind of stupid for asking this, but how do I read the actual article. I don't see a "More" button, and clicking the title of the article takes me to your guild's website, which has no article.

Hades, I hope you don't mind, but I would like to link your website with the articles on it for easy accessibility - they're good reads.

Guild Death
There never seems to be any special reasons for a guilds death, unless you allow internal strife{otherwise know as fighting among members}which happens to be the main reason for a guilds death. Example: in Guild Wars you make a guild and get it going only to join a alliance that likes to fight members of the alliance all the time in chat, this will spread into your guild so fast that you will lose members and come back to find your guild empty. The single reason that causes your guild to die will be because of internal fighting. The second reason is no body works together for a better purpose. And finally if you have a faction oriented guild make sure that all members are active and sharing in building faction{reputation, ect.} or the hole guild will suffer when your active people decide there better off joining a more active guild. Good luck!
