Defenitley, what's even better is if you run with a clan or a good team that listen to their leader (And strategist), especially if you're the leader and your plan does what it should and brings you to victory.

Each games under a certain genre has a different innovation or feel to it, different weapons, etc. But to be considered as an FPS... you have to be "the one" playing and the eyes of the character (hence First-person) and shooting is self-explanatory.

I think an honorable mention of "Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth" also ought to be made, as it is a FPS which differs widely from what is considered mainstream FPS. While arguably it's more of a FPRPG like Oblivion, it is in the same league as Deus Ex albeit overlooked by most people.
As for only FPS games looking the same, it's the same with basically every other game in existence; otherwise they wouldn't be part of a game genre.

It's all about competition for me. Also, I like to switch things up and play on different maps that different FPS's offer.
