For this reason, not dishing on OP but mods around here might want to be a bit more careful about letting people post links to ROM sites, whilst it's only really Nintendo and a couple of other big publishers there are plenty of stories of forums having to be paranoid after getting dished up legal threats just for users' posted links.

They're always pretty easily Googlable (Is that a word? ) though, so it's not too much of a problem.

The emulators he's recommended are great, people with consoles might also want to look at snes9x (It's not quite as good as zSnes for a PC but has been ported to all sorts of interesting places) and there are plenty of better downloadable NES emulators than FireNes.

http://www.zophar.net used to be the place for emulators and news about them in general, died for a long time then was semi-resurrected, now it's in and out of some bizarre limbo but they still have lists of emulators by platform/system that give you an idea of just how many options there really are.
