Guilds and WotLK
I am looking for the perspectives of other Guild leaders on how they think Guild Dynamics will be affected once WotLK finally arrives.

Recently, 5 friends and I transferred to Arthas off of a completely dead server. Prior to the X-fer we were raiding content into MH.

Once we landed on Arthas we started thinking about where we should go.

We decided to create our own guild and keep the numbers low in anticipation of the X-pac. Yes, this means we decided that our schedules were at the point where we were willing to forgo raiding into BT and SW.

I really like the fact that in the X-pac there will be a full progression line of instances in both 10 man and 25 man flavors.

Anyone else started thinking about how the X-pac may affect or not affect their guilds yet?

I'm betting most good GM's have.

Being able to 10-Man all of the content is a nice plus (more players will be able to experience the full content), but I also like that the loot will be better in the 25-Man versions. Let's face it co-ordinating a team of 25 is much more difficult than a group of 10. That effort should be rewarded.

I agree with you that 25 mans should be rewarded.
Actually, managing the 25 man raids and the frustration it comes with is the main reason I'm liking the 10 man aspect.

I actually wrote a blog entry abot it. Anyway, I do think it will change guild dynamics a littlle. Hardcore guilds or semi hardcore guilds will probably continue with 25 person raids, cause they already have the foundation for that. Casual and friend guilds might have an easier time getting the 10 person raids up.

I for one would like to try out to create a guild just for the 10 person raids, I think that will be a lot of fun without having me to resort to being online too much.
