Age of wonders:Shadow magic
Anyone ever play this? It is similar to civilization game play but a lot less complex. Cool part about it I thought was your main character is a wizard and your city is a wizard tower. Lots of mythical beasts to build and control.

I have all 3, AoW 1, 2 and Shadow magic. Its not as simple as it looks unfortunately. The AI is brutally harsh, taking up captured cities as soon as you leave them or striking at your weak points while you're off taking one of his cities. I'm almost positive it cheats but I haven't had the urge to decompile the game code or search through the files to confirm. Its like a mix of Civ, Heroes of Might and Magic and the Total War games.
