Tribes?
Anyone wanna show some love for the Tribes series?

That game was groundbreaking! Before Starsiege Tribes I was only playing Quake 2 CTF ...typically the Threewave mod. But when a buddy of mine called me over to his house to check out this game with jetpacks, I was instantly hooked.

I liked the entire series for it's own unique style. I liked Vengeance, but eh ....it was nothing compared to T1 and T2. I really wish they didn't hose Vengeance....

Anyone here ever play the series??

I liked Tribes 2 fine even though I never really played it online much. The best part is that I got it for free because of some Fileplanet special offer thing.

I own Tribes 1, 2, and Vengeance....but the only one I really enjoyed was Tribes 1 (Starsiege: Tribes).

That game owned my soul until I moved to New Zealand and was converted to Counter-Strike. Many, many fond memories.

Thumbs up
Yeah I liked Starsiege Tribes the best. T2 was nice for massive, epic scale warfare but T1 just simply rocked. It was the only game that coaxed me out of Q2's Threewave Capture the Flag.

I've never played Tribes 1 - played the Tribes 2 demo and liked it, but not enough to buy it - but do own Tribes: Vengeance. I liked playing T:V with my friends, but it became empty after they canceled support for it. It would've been nice had some Tribes game actually gotten popular amongst a larger crowd... it deserves more recognition than such series as BattleField and Call of Duty.

I played T2 for a year straight, and it rocked. The TWL matches I was in were some of the best games I've ever played.

I played the Tribes: Vengeance beta, and it just didn't feel the same.

Yeah, Vengeance was "fun" but it pales in comparision to the 2 previous releases. I didn't get a chance to compete in T2 but spent a lot of time in the TWL and the BEML with Starsiege Tribes. Total adrenaline rush in competition!

Wow, I looked this up cause I had never seen it before, and it looks pretty interesting. It said it was released 2004 as freeware, so I can download it for free? If so, please someone direct me to this, I'm going to see if I can't find the download myself. (I tend to be terrible when finding things on the net until I ask someone, so now I ask first and then search )

You can find the original Starsiege: Tribes here.
As for the free Tribes 2, unfortunately FilePlanet ran out of keys.
If you can find a key, then you can download it at FilePlanet.
