I'm curious, what is your goal? Are you doing this as a work project? school? personal?

Thanks for posting. It's always amazes me at just how much games for the 2600 evolved. They started out with a few crude shoot-em-ups, and as gaming evolved, 2600 programmers kept pushing the boundaries of the old tired VCS to keep up.

You can look at the VCS port of games like Donkey Kong or Mario Brothers and laugh, but you also have to wonder at the folks that managed to make them playable on the old dog.
