I think cheats are OK only after you have exhausted all else in the game.
think StarCraft, after you beat everything, why not check out all the maps with a little "black sheep wall" or see how many zerglings you can make with "show me the money" and "food for thought" It depends on your perspective as a gamer, then again since its a single player game, who cares? |

Aren't cheats added to make it quicker for them to test everything?

That seems to be like a good reason for them to be in the game in the first place. The ones that the gaming public can use after the game is released are the ones the devs left behind to be used for having fun with the game(think the unlock all weapons, infinite ammo and other cheats) or else they forgot to disable them so that they can't be used by anyone outside of the dev company(think the Hot Coffee code in the PC version of San Andreas).

Hot Coffee i understand but most other ones (unlimited ammo etc) seem to yes have been used for testing at one stage but they were left for people to use as well
