Following the success of their earlier games (namely WarCraft and Diablo), Blizzard Entertainment presents StarCraft, a real-time strategy space epic. Those familiar with the WarCraft series should feel at home here, as the interface and control scheme are similar to those of WarCraft II: Tides of Darkness. However, this is where the similarities end.

What happens to be so broken about them? Simple. They are air-to-surface zerg units that have the longest range out of any unit. Now the problem lies in that they can't attack air. That's what most people who use them say. But guess what? It doesn't matter. You can't produce enough anti-air and still have a significant attack or defense force to protect yourself for the next time a wave comes. Zerg are cheap. Not just for their zerglings but because they also have guardians. The worst thing I ever saw was an army of two guys. One had guardians and one had zerglings. I had half the map and it was gone in about two minutes.
Blech. And their ugly too.

Loved the game. Wasn't as edit-ready as later games, but people did what they could with what they had and came out ahead. Awesome gameplay, even now.

This is quite possibly the best RTS of all time. If not the best, then the most popular. It is the Halo of RTS games.
Seriously, how can you not like this game, perfectly balanced rts action. the father of all good rts. Only way you could hate this is if you are racist to jews (2 jews were in the development crew).

I've never been very good at RTS games, but I've still got a special place in my heart for Starcraft. I used to play it every weekend with a couple friends for months, and this was long after it had come out.
Who DIDN'T play this? if this is you, get out now.

OMG, this game is a lot of fun. It's better with a few friends and playing as teams. Sure, it's old and the graphics could be a lot better, but it is a fun way to blow off an hour or so.
