Windows Vista Service Pack 1: A performance check

The story of Windows Vista is one fraught with tragedy (at least, as tragic as software can get). The operating system had a difficult birth, with Microsoft scrapping its work and starting over again about half-way through the development cycle, shedding many promised features in the process. Once out in the market, Vista had an even rougher childhood. Drivers weren't ready in time, users perceived Vista as nothing more than a more resource-hungry version of XP with a prettier user interface, and many reviewers gave it a thumbs down.

I personally have had NO problems with Vista and think it is an awesome OS. Sure at first there were driver issues etc. but now it runs like butter. Never crashes and i have no issues running games or any other programs.

XP had its day...time to move on.

Vista now has like a 15% market share. Double OS X. 20+ times that of Linux. I write this from a macBook Pro running Ubuntu.

Keep your XP if you like it, but Vista is the better OS.

Clearly Vista has been caught by a combination of well earned anti-Microsoft backlash and an internet full of bloggers who honestly are complete morons about anything beyond Firefox and email.

BTW, Microsoft is down 0.50% (thats a half of a percent) market share this year. Your being lied to and its your own fault for believing it. If you remember XP's first year, you'd know people bitched and moaned too. Now they are like "you'll take XP from my cold dead hands". Lesson? People bitch because people like to bitch.

I still say I'm sticking w/ XP till I get more time to learn Linux lol.
I've heard more than enough from my friends and family who got Vista, and they are all ticked with it.
I'm keeping the 'Ha ha I told you so.' to my self >_>;
