DESCRIPTION

Zork I, the first entry in a standalone trilogy, is a tongue-in-cheek text adventure game set within a labyrinthine fantasy world located far beneath the earth. It is home to the Great Underground Empire, where the fabled "Treasures of Zork" can be had for any adventurer who can survive the underground realm's many challenges. Players will solve perplexing puzzles, navigate mazes, and battle outlandish creatures by entering text at a cursor prompt. Complete sentences can be typed and recognized, or simple verb-noun commands such as "open mailbox." Each valid action will be rewarded with a descriptive passage of text to explain what happened and offer clues on what to do next.
