DESCRIPTION
In Zoop you control a shape-shooting triangle that maneuvers up, down, right and left within the center square of a grid. As a random sequence of shapes of different colors advance toward you in rows from all four sides of the grid, you must eliminate the shapes before they reach the center square.
When you blast a shape of that is different in color than your ship, you will automatically switch colors with that shape, and the shape will remain in play. When you shoot a shape of your color, it will vanish from the playfield, along with shapes behind it of the same color.
Power-ups appear on the grid from time to time and you can use them for added "Zooping" power. Proximity Bombs vanquish all shapes touching the first shape you hit. A Line Bomb will eliminate an entire column of shapes regardless of color. Color Bombs destroy all the shapes in a quadrant that are the same color as the first shape you hit. And, when you collect five Bonus Springs, all the shapes on the grid will be destroyed.
Zoop offers five levels of difficulty and two modes of play: Continual Game and Level Game. After eliminating enough shapes to progress to the next stage in the Continual Game, current shapes will remain on the grid, but the background will change and the speed of the shapes will increase. In the Level Game, after you have eliminated a certain number of shapes, you will move on to the next level with all current shapes vanishing from the screen. There are 99 levels in all. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
