In Zoo Keeper, you play Zeke, the poor guy in charge of the wild animals who have a penchant for eating their cages. As Zeke, you must run around the outside wall of their cages and rebuild them before they can eat their way through and escape.
There is a timer bar at the top of the screen that will drop a net once it winds down to a certain point. Once the net drops, Zeke can pick it up and use it to knock escaped animals back into their cages. If an animal charges at Zeke before he has the net, he must leap over it to survive. Occasional bonus items (root beers, four-leaf clovers, etc.) pop up, and Zeke can grab them for bonus points.
After the net drops, the timer continues, and the screen turns from black to blue. When the remaining time expires, Zeke collects bonus points for all of the animals still confined in their cages.
Every time Zeke completes two wall-building boards successfully, he goes to a rescue stage. In this stage, Zeke must leap from platform to platform to rescue his girlfriend, Zelda. Along the way, he must dodge coconuts heaved by monkey.
After two successfully completed rescue stages, Zeke goes for a bonus life by leaping a pack of animals and climbing a series of escalators to the top of the screen. Then, the action begins anew. ~ Anthony Baize, All Game Guide
