DESCRIPTION

Zaxxon is a conversion of the Sega coin-op title of the same name. Piloting a small space-fighter, you must brave a series of hazards to reach the final confrontration with a heavily armed and heavily armored space robot.

There are two alternating game stages. The game begins with your space-fighter flying through a trench. The floor of the trench is littered with targets which you must shoot or avoid. Watch out, because the gun emplacements in the trench shoot back. You must also keep alert for walls and force fields which block your path. Don't forget to shoot the fuel tanks to recharge your space-fighter's energy.

After flying through a trench, your space-fighter enters the second stage. Here your ship moves through open space as you battle a fleet of enemy fighters. Try and shoot as many of the fighters as possible while you dodge their laser fire. ~ Joseph Scoleri III, All Game Guide
