DESCRIPTION
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure is veteran publisher Capcom's first game exclusively designed for the Wii. According to legend, the pirate Barbaros hid his vast treasure on an uncharted island. Young Zack is all too familiar with the tale, as he dreamed of discovering the island and claiming the treasure as his own. One day Zack happens upon a talking skull that not only confirms the supposed myth, it reveals it is a piece of Barbaros himself! The lad will receive the mysterious island's key if he completes one small favor: free Barbaros from his terrible curse. Zack agrees, and with the help of his strange monkey friend Wiki, sets off on an adventure through jungle ruins, volcanic caverns, frozen temples, and other exotic locales.
The action is controlled solely with the Wii Remote, allowing players to move Zack, interact with hotspots, and inspect items simply by pointing the controller toward the screen and clicking a button. The remote is used in more offbeat ways as well, from turning keys to playing a piccolo. The bulk of play involves figuring out how to use the various items within each region in order to advance. While enemies will periodically encounter Zack, they can be transformed into harmless objects courtesy of Wiki's special powers. Also found throughout the 20-plus areas are hidden treasure pieces and collectible items to improve your overall ranking. Up to three onlookers can even help Zack by using their Wii Remotes to highlight potentially overlooked objects. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“In my mission to try at least all my current games for my new wii I loaded this up to give it a go. Love how Capcom can make a relatively childish cute looking game and then through in being...”

“This is an excellent game, if you have a Wii and like games that will engage your brain you have no excuse not to buy this game especially since you can buy it for cheap now (I bought a new copy for only $20 CAD). It's one of the few games out there that actually implements the Wii's motion controls to it's potential instead of just lazily adding waggle.

“Cute and puzzling. It's like King's Quest except with far better animation. Some puzzles in this game had me really scratching my head though despite it's cute looks. It's only good once though, a replay never happened with me.”

“An awesomely cute story, great characters, and just a lovely overall look. The puzzles were great; some levels even had multiple ways of solving them, which really added to the replay value. This is one that I wholeheartedly suggest to anyone that's looking for a new Wii game. This is one of the best games that I've owned and had the pleasure of playing. It just hit a sweet spot for me that few games made in recent years have and I don't care how stupid that sounds. :D”

“Restarted since it's been some time since I played any other Wii game (blame Smash Bros & Pikmin 2). Have totally forgotten all the levels anyway.”
