DESCRIPTION
The popular card-battling game and animated television show returns to Game Boy Advance with a new setting and storyline. Based on the spinoff series airing in the U.S. on the Cartoon Network, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (short for Generation Next) has players guiding protagonist Jaden Yuki as he strives to become the "king of games" at the local Dueling Academy. Fans of previous Yu-Gi-Oh! titles will be introduced to new characters, monsters, and more importantly, cards based on the GX world. Those new to Yu-Gi-Oh! will be able to participate in an interactive tutorial, while veteran players can test their knowledge in a series of quizzes designed to improve their duel ranking. As a special bonus, initial shipments of the game will include three exclusive trading cards. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

You know, considering this society has deemed children's card games as the most important aspect of their society (never mind guns or butter... children's card games is much more important for the economy)--it is kind of no surprise that there ar schools that teach kids how to play them in a more winning style. I mean, they will not even pull over to the side of the road, to take a break from driving their vehicles, if the need to play a children's card game occurs.
I mean, where we have drive by shootings, they have drive by children's card games.
So--we have a game, set at the prestigious Duel Academy.
You know--when I played the Sacred Cards, I generally found the rules to be a lot simpler than the monstrosity of a game presented here.
My opinion is, if a game requires a school on how to play it effectively enough to actually well-play the damn game.. then your game kind of has failed in playability value.
I mean, let us compare this to Football. By Football, I mean, Football... not handegg. Anybody can pick up a ball, and learn how to do some wonderful things with it, using their feet, legs, head, and upper body. The only really guiding rule is that it cannot touch from your the ends of your fingers to your shoulders. Many kids find soccer quite fun to play. And really--there is no requirement for some academy to play it.
Though, the one flaw of my argument here, is while my society has drive by shootings, the society presented here has drive by card games. So, I am more than willing to think my views here are flawed.
Though, this does make me feel odd, that I have not seen much for football players--or any organised sports in the YuGiOh series. Though, even if they were there, they would likely involve duel monsters.
Hmm... Duel Monsters Rugby? You know--if they kept the rules decent and simple, I would definitely buy that XD--I mean, even considering that sports games tend to be the worst pieces of tripe out there (Football was used here for analogy on how easy the rules are to learn--not suggesting that as far as video games go, the Fifa series really is any better on how it is done).”

“Yeah--over the last two months of me not being here I still played games... I just cannot be bothered to remember more of the times and dates of what I played. So--I am just going to list it...”
