DESCRIPTION
In Imagines Yie Ar Kung Fu you play as the warrior Oolong who must battle his way through 10 opponents to victory. Oolong chooses to fight with only his hands and feet and does battle against opponents who use various weapons from kung fu's history.
In each encounter you face off against a sole enemy in a side angle viewpoint. Oolong may jump, move towards and away from the enemy. Attacking consists of attacking three levels, the head, body and lower body. Oolong and each of his opponents are given a life meter, which is depleted as strikes are taken. If Oolong's meter should reach empty before the opponents does, you lose a life. If you lose all four of the lives given to you the game is over. A player can win additional lives be reaching point milestones. If the opponent's meter should become empty first, the player advances to next opponent and has a renewed life meter for the encounter.
The ten opponents Oolong must face are, in the order of appearance and difficulty, Buchu, Star, Nunchu, Pole, Chain, Club, Fan, Sword, Tonfon, and Blues. All enemies are named after the weapons they employ except for Buchu who has a special move but is weaponless and Blues who is an enemy of equal strength to Oolong who mirrors your every move in combat.
There are sound effects and different background graphics for first five battles and the last five battles. There is a tracking arrow under your player to indicate which movement and position. Two player features consist of alternating turns. ~ Ryan Glover, All Game Guide
