XIII: Covert Identity is a side-scrolling action game based on the Belgian comic book by Jean Van Hamme and William Vance. Mobile gamers play as the hunted, amnesiac hero XIII in some levels, and as a secret agent called Jessica in others. Game levels are a mix of combat, platforming, racing, stealth, and shooting. Making their way through each stage, players gain access to a wide selection of weapons, including pistols, pump-action guns, and Uzis. In tough situations, players may find a nearby object, such as a fire extinguisher or a potted plant, can be used to take out multiple enemies in one shot. The game features a number of set-piece sequences as well, including a fall from a high window to a swimming pool several stories below, and a daring escape on top of a freight truck, lobbing grenades at chasing enemies. The graphics are in the style of a four-color comic, with sound-effect words that flash during the fights, gunfire, and explosions. Special objects hidden throughout the game's levels reveal new secrets about the identity of XIII. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
