DESCRIPTION
Space stations have been infested with strange alien life forms. As one of nine brave alien exterminators, you must clear each station of its alien presence with the available arsenal of weapons.
Xenophobe has 2D graphics presented in an isometric format. The stages are composed of interconnected rooms, and you explore these rooms from a side-view perspective. There are three ways to beat each stage. First you can try to stay alive until the aliens have completely overrun the station, at which point you'll be beamed to safety and advance to the next station. The drawback is that you will earn few points.
If you want to earn a lot of points, you can hunt down and exterminate every last alien life form onboard the station, a prospect made more difficult than it sounds because certain aliens have the capability of creating new life forms. The third and final method requires you to find and activate the self-destruct mechanism present on certain stations. After hitting the button, you'll be beamed to safety.
You start the game with a number of health points and a pistol. By exploring the stations you can acquire bombs to throw at aliens, as well as find better guns to equip. You can also find items that replenish your health or give you bonus points. Every time an alien hits you, a certain amount of points will be deducted from your health. When you die, you can continue as one of the other playable characters in the game. If all the characters die, however, the game is over. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide
