DESCRIPTION
A perennial fan favorite, X-Men vs. Street Fighter features two of the most popular franchises in the entertainment industry in one game. Now gamers can engage in such fights as Sabretooth vs. Dhalsim and Rogue vs. Chun Li. With its super jumps and outrageous special moves, the familiar 2D fighting action is similar to that of X-Men: Children of the Atom. However, the game introduces a new, very well received element of play: tag team match-ups. Another distinguishing feature in the game is Apocalypse, who appears as a giant boss — one of the largest to ever appear in this type of game. As with most Capcom fighting games, X-Men vs. Street Fighter has smooth animation, fun gameplay, brightly colored graphics, clear sounds and fast, responsive controls. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide

“One of the greatest arcade fighters ever created. This game pitted 2 popular franchise against eachother and nothing ever felt so good. X-Men vs. Street fighter was one of those games that everybody played growing up whenever they went to the movies, pizza hut, etc. If I remember correctly in the campaign mode the story varied between characters, but eventually lead to a confrontation with Apocalypse... who took up the entire screen. Campaign consisted of a few still images and dialog boxes usually followed by a match.
The fighting mechanics were incredible, specials were a blast to pull off and everything else was at the highest standards as well. Graphics were crisp to the point where you could hardly see any pixels. This game truely deserved to be ported to PC by a group of indie developers.
If I were you guys I would check out www.streetfighteronline.com (formerly X-Men vs. Street Fighter, but name changed due to copyright issues). Its an entirely free port of this game, redesigned to avoid anything else to do with copyright and license. It might not have the single player campaign as the original, but its multiplayer is still the same and single player is getting there. Although I have to say they only unlock new characters for everyone to play every few years so now there's only about 10 characters. The latest character unlocked is Iron Man!!!”
