World Karate Championship is a series of one-on-one fights, taking place in eight international settings, such as Australia, New York City and Mt. Fuji. Your character is capable of 16 different fighting moves, including a variety of punches, kicks and flips. You can block strikes to the head or stomach by walking backward, but blocking against low kicks or sweeps is not possible — you must leap out of the way or counterattack.
When you play against a human opponent, the player with the most knockdowns wins the fight. When challenging the computer, match points determine the winner, and you can progress through rounds, fight tougher and tougher opponents and earn higher belts. Between rounds you must pass tests of skill, such as breaking bricks with your head and dodging flying spears and knives. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
