DESCRIPTION

Choose between 24 international teams in World Championship Soccer for the Sega Genesis. You can play against the computer in a single game test match or challenge a friend to a game. If you want a shot at the World Championship, you'll have to work your way up the elimination ladder in a league playoff series.

Each team in this game has 16 players on the roster. You must choose your starting lineup of 11 players. The teams are ranked by speed, skill, defense, and goal keeping abilities while individual players are ranked by speed, kicking strength, tackling strength, and accuracy.

The primary action in this game consists of kicking the ball down field and trying to kick the ball into the opponent's net. Other options and features familiar to fans of real soccer include ground passes, high passes, steals, tackles, corner kicks, penalties, penalty kicks, throw-ins, and goal kicks.
