The good news is that you've been released (thawed) after spending five years aboard an orbiting prison in cryogenic suspension for a crime you didn't commit. The bad news is you've been assigned to GLAMA (Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area) under a conditional parole to investigate TekLords, leaders of the 21st century version of the mob, who are striving to increase distribution of Tek, a highly addictive mind altering substance. Your boss is Walter Bascom head of the Cosmos Detective Agency that is trying to eliminate the illegal use of Tek and who is desperately trying to stop those who distribute it on the Matrix. Bascom and his Agency needs your skills (as an ex-cop) in the fight to stop the TekLords.
William Shatner's literary TekWar series forms the basis of the game. Shatner plays the part of Bascom and through the use of full motion video clips assigns you missions and gives you evaluations concerning your successes or failures. Use of the hallucinogenic is increasing to frightful levels as the TekLords have seemingly set aside their differences to unite in an effort to maximize profits. You'll have to use high tech weapons, learn to navigate the complex Matrix cyber-highway, gather clues, solve puzzles and interact with various city dwellers and locations to eliminate the Tek trade in the seven distinct GLAMA districts.
