DESCRIPTION
Whomp 'Em puts you in the role of Soaring Eagle, a young Indian Brave obsessed with seeking totems for his magic pouch. To acquire the totems, you'll travel through eight worlds, the first being a game tutorial. The next six can be traversed in any order, while level eight remains a mystery. Known worlds include Sacred Woods, Magic Forest, Water Test, Secret Cliff, Ice Ritual and Fire Test.
As you run and jump on the various platforms, spikes and other obstacles hinder your progress, and creatures such as hopping mushrooms, twirling monsters, rolling eyeballs, grabbing hands and other enemies will get in your way. To repel the petulant pests, you are equipped with a spear you can use as a prod.
When defeated, some enemies will drop magic items such as a flint spearhead, a buffalo headdress, a gourd, or a deerskin shirt. These items can increase your attack strength, lengthen your spear, heal your wounds, give an extra life, increase your defensive power or life force, or make you invincible.
When you defeat the demon boss at the end of each level, you are awarded a totem. These totems can be special weapons or powers, such as a fire wand that shoots a flame, an ice crystal, which freezes enemies, and a web allowing you to catch enemies. Although you can collect totems and select from them as needed, they will drain your life force with each use. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
