The world's most infamous thief, Carmen Sandiego, has escaped from prison in Europe. Worse yet, word has it that she is reorganizing the Villain's International League of Evil (V.I.L.E.) right here in America! As a detective in the Acme Detective Agency, it's up to you to make sure she and her partners in crime are put behind bars — for good this time.

In Where in the U.S.A. is Carmen Sandiego?, you'll experience all the challenges of being a Gumshoe in pursuit of a notorious criminal. In all, there are 16 villains you must pick up, Carmen being the last. They'll steal anything from the Washington Monument to the Golden Gate bridge, as you must gather clues to catch each. You will often be confronted with a choice of places to go based on these clues, such choices making a difference in the flow of the game as you learn more about U.S. Geography.
